About

“The dawn of youth, the twilight years/ The tender light we hold so dear/ The memory of the smile, the tear/ The slender threads that bind us here.”

~Kathy Mattea, “The Slender Threads That Bind Us Here”

Hi. Welcome to my little slice of the blogosphere. My name is Janet. I’m a fortysomething, single RN living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I share my life, and my home, with a black-furred creature of the feline persuasion. We live on a farm in the foothills of the Cascades.
I’m a Jesus-lover. After several years of feeling a pull towards a more liturgical way, both in life and in worship, I joined a tiny Anglican congregation in 2019. I am finding that I love the beauty and sameness in our form of worship. In a world where so much is shifting, this ancient way remains a comforting constant.
I’m a fiber artist specializing in knitting and crocheting. It keeps me sane. 😉 I am a volunteer Child Advocate with Compassion International. If you would like to learn more about their ministry, check out my Compassion page. I am a daughter of two parents still married after 50 years, sister of two brothers, “sister” of several, auntie of five, “auntie” of many, and beloved of One.

Thanks for joining me here.

~Janet

  1. Well Hello Janet. I’m also forty something too and used to live in the Seattle area and worked as a corpsman in the Navy. I like to knit, crochet, make rugs, quilts, and spin-really anything to do with fiber. My name is Rhonda. Nice to meet you.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my post on instagram. I’m quite touched to be honest. I do hope that we continue to get to know each other.
